Learning Strategy #2 - Clothesline
Clothesline
This is best used as a small group activity. It can be used for any activity that requires a sequential order, reviewing a story from beginning to end. This can even be used for math problems ranging from solving equations to verifying trigonmetric identities. Clothesline activities can be used for all grade levels; from matching games, sight words to puting together in the correct order for a math problem or story.
How to use a clothesline:
You can string a clothesline (or piece of yarn) across your classroom or against a wall. Make sure that there is enough space for each group to put up their strips of paper. Have strips of paper with sentences from a story, or parts of an algebraic sentence, etc. Have the students put them in the correct order and then put them on the clothesline using clothes pins to hold the paper.
